2010 Some Times

"Some Times" (2010) series of Pac-Man inspired textart-paintings by Sebastian Bieniek

In this conceptual series of 16 paintings from the year 2010, Pac-Man, an icon from the digital video games, found a new home in at Bieniek's paintingas.
Therefore this series is about the transformation of a video game icon that is almost reminiscent of the transformation of steam to water, water to ice and back again and because of this it's a kind of metaphor for the transformation itself.

It’s always the same basic situation, made again and again of the same stones. It consists of a constellation of two participants that changes again and again - as in a cycle - in a way that is at the same time humorous, profound and even political and socially critical.

But the series is also about the narration. It's about the fact that it starts at a certain paint changes and goes one in this one in the opposite direction. There is no such thing like good or bad, there a just two sides of the same coin.
