NEW: "Barrier Tape Objects" is a series of objects, made out of barrier tape and other materials.
The artworks were created by Sebastian Bieniek (B1EN1EK), the creator of "Barrier Tape Art", in april and may 2020. They are part of the "Barrier Tape Art Oeuvre" created in the same year by the Berlin Based artist. Some of the artworks from the oeuvre are the most expensive artworks by a linving artist.

Sebastian Bieniek’s „Barrier Tape Art“ became the „Symbol of Vicotory over the Virus"

"De otra manera, Sebastian Bieniek produjo una serie de fotografías en abril de 2020 que dieron lugar a su obra Coronakunst: diversas tomas de parques y lugares públicos abandonados y laxamente acordonados con cinta barrada por las autoridades de Berlín. Se trata de un acervo de estrategias que, como nos han enseñado los medios, son completamente habituales en todas las prácticas de contención pandémica y de reclusión voluntaria empleadas por los gobiernos con el objetivo de ralentizar la propagación del coronavirus. La escueta pero insistente presencia de esta cinta en medio de ciudades espectrales evoca, con una literalidad exenta de las dolidas atmósferas de González, “todo el sufrimiento y dolor que vivimos (…) desde que el virus apareció” según palabras del propio Bieniek. Lo que no le impidió concebir su escultura
Barrier Tape Art N°1 como la celebración del triunfo sobre el infecto corona, ni haberla vendido en ciento cincuenta mil euros. Más allá del oportunismo de la pieza y su autor, el título de la serie es revelador: la desaparición masiva de las poblaciones es una obra del coronavirus, que es una manera de traducir la expresión alemana Coronakunst.
Tenemos, pues, dos piezas artísticas que, a su modo, reflexionan y encaran experiencias irreductibles de la enfermedad y sus metáforas, el cuerpo y su ausencia, las urbes y el enfrentamiento ético de las sociedades con malestares pandémicos. Dos gestiones, por tanto, de las poblaciones en ciudades virales y ciudades sanitizadas: Miami y Berlín. Se trata, por último, de dos ciudades globales cuyos modelos han sido definitivos y definitorios de sendas versiones de la modernidad que conforman historias cruzadas sobre los poderes de hacer vivir y dejar morir a sectores enteros de las poblaciones mundiales."
